Default Preamps @ TSE

What type of pre's are we using with the TSE? I have been using a high end passive. I just substituted in an active tube pre and have sat down for a listen

Less is more. I don't use a pre-amp except for my turntable. I have a selection switch and volume control on the TSE.

I took the active out of the chain and put the passive back in. The active robbed me of my soundstage which at time's is as wide as the room. Spooky almost.
