It's a 5U4 in the pic. I have ma few 5y types. I'll go on the hunt for some 5y's. I'm now trying to figure out the proper way to wire in a switch and a fuse. Merry Christmas

Wondering if something like this would work for fuse/Iec/switch. Don't have white wire on hand. The Grey is connected (temporarily) to xpwr white ground. Black is 125v.

No sound, no sound, no sound. I chased this for 3 hours. It was the binding posts. Took them out of the chain and, bingo. B+ @ 302v with a 5r4 rectifier.

Couldn't get that switch to work so I bypassed it for the time being.

Moved the amp downstairs and connected it to very sensitive Cornwalls. Sounds glorious. Fantastic imaging. When it gets nice and hot I'll spin some records. Need to get rid of some hum. Not affected by volume control.

Should I ground my binding post and if so, how. Just ground negative side?

Replaced twisted pair on the inputs with Belden coax. Hum's still there.

Pulled out some of the wood stash thinking the 3rd attempt at a base could be successful. How long should I run this with meters attached?

What Cornwalls are you using?

Cornwall 1's, modded with Athelia Audio crossovers, Crites CT120 tweeters & KAPPA 9c woofers. I'm going to try a different choke (Hammond 193J) and see if nthe hum goes away. Amp sounds real nice.

a while back C1 puked it guts out because I had the polarity wrong. Rat Shack didn't have a replacement so I just reused the original 15000uf 10v electrolytic minus half it's fluid. The new part arrived along with a few different C4's. My him is almost non existent. I need to stick my ear within a few inches to hear tweet hum/hiss. Outstanding with these very sensitive Cornwalls.



Upgrade iron suggestions please.
