Default Problem with 10m45s

Hi, My friend has a problem with SSE board and stabilizer (10m45s)- no output.
Everything seems to be OK, but the current one is second set of stabilizer and result is the same. Some measuremets as follows:

Any good idea what to check, measure? Thanks in advance!

Where did your friend get them? Lots of fakes out there.

The control pin is dragged down by the load. It won't work like that!

What???? There is nothing wrong with the circuit. It has been working perfectly for 8 years and hundreds of amp builds, SSE and TSE.

Unfortunately the most likely answer is fake parts or improper installation. There have been other builders who have received fake parts and all of them have been in Europe. This has been the usual reason for zero plate volts on the SSE or TSE.

It is also possible to install the part using the installation instructions for the wrong side of the board, SSE only. This usually results in high plate voltage.

You can test the board by replacing the 10M45 with a 18 to 22K ohm 2 watt resistor. This should make the amp play, but the results will not be optimum.

Thank you for your answers! He got them from 2 different suppliers in Ebay, both European, so probably fakes. Resistor test makes SSE playing, so the board should be OK. Though the sound was not best possible, perhaps because of this resistor solution... or perhaps audio caps were fakes as well.

The resistor provides power to the 12AT7, but now the 12AT7 operates into less than a 30K load, which it doesn't like. This lowers the gain and increases the distortion. With a 10M45 the 12AT7 sees a 120K ohm load which it likes.
