I received the bona fides chips from Mouser today, fitted them and the amplifier works like a charm. It sounds really excellent, and while it worked with the 47k resistors in the CCSs really make a huge difference. Nice tight bass, very expressive for a wide range of music (I've tested it with Chopin nocturnes, Bach organ music, Led Zeppelin and thrash metal so far) and very detailed.

If I'd been buying a Rolex or a Chanel bag maybe I'd have worried about counterfeiters. I never would have thought of it regarding chips before, especially when they're only a couple of dollars legitimately. I suppose you live and learn.... Sad really.

Thanks for all your help.
