A dedicated CD player is usually more expensive than your average dvd player
that also plays CD's.
I have several CD players and the one I use most often is a Marantz CD-5004.
The regular price is around $350 but are often on special below $300.

NAD cd players are also good choices but you'll have to spend more.

Hi,

Great used CD players are dirt cheap. Last one I bought
for someone was a nice used Marantz SE for 30, I can't
remember the exact model, but it wasn't cheap new.

rgds, sreten.

OPPO DVD players make very good DC players too. Doesn't have to be the newer players or even the modified ones.

I have a DVP S7000 from back in the day and though it doesn't get much use (all CD's ripped to FLAC) it does still do a nice job.
