Im seriously thinking about it and gathering parts. I will be doing it point to point mono block, I've got all or most of the parts already, just finished my first SSE UL with CFB and it sounds mighty fine. I'll run up the voltage a bit more that the standard SSE for sure with those tubes and use a 400-0-400 tranny.

Anyone see an actual schematic for the SSE anywhere - I saw the wire diagram and can probably use that but I'm wondering about a schematic.

Cheers,
Bob

I'm sure it will work fine, though it won't be pushed anywhere near its limits in an SSE. You could give the OPTs more B+, but then you may run out of swing from the input/driver stage.

would 20-25watt be realistic with just SE ?

Pretty sure the KT150 can be driven similar to a KT120 or KT88 for that matter and thinking just upping B+ voltage some, I've got 400-0-400 trannies for this build and not using any electrolytic caps. For output I'd think 10-12 watts tops. I don't think this tube is in the same league as an 845 so I'm not going for that kind of HV. Not really much different than a KT120 from what I've read. The way I see it, it's a pretty looking KT88/KT120 tube, all dressed up and pretty. We will see, I'm about to start sleeping on a design. I've got all the iron, lots of parts and chassis's are built ready to go.

Cheers,
Bob

if I have 2x trafo with 0-120-140-160-180-200V, and 350mA

(and seperate heater trafos with 3.15-3-0-3-3.15V, and 5A)

would it be ok to use voltage doublers ?
