Question about diode for SSE D3 and D4

Just checking if this diode available at Parts Connexion could be used for the SSE D3 and D4, would it be better than either IN4007 or UF4007 .......

BY228TR, Vishay 3.0A, 1500V, Avalanche Rectifying Diode (Sinterglass / glass-passivated),

1N4007 is a 1A 1000PIV standard recovery diode.

3A 1500PIV is a higher rating.

What are the diodes in the "SSE D3 AND D4" being used for?

They were recently added to the pcb for some start up protection for the 5AR4 tube due to the fact that today's less than robust new production 5AR4 tubes often fail under high voltage startup conditions.

i recently rebuilt by SSE and encounter issue like sparking of the rectifier.
all was solved with just a simple mod as seen here.

Yes, this is the purpose of D3 and D4 on the SSE pcb.
