Opinions on valve coolers do they work or just alter the sound also any views on deep cryogenic treatment on tubes cables etc has anybody info on this subject

IERC tube heatsinks were very common in high end commercial / mil grade communications gear on the smaller 7 and 9 pin tubes. There were at least five sizes that I know of.
There were also other makers, but IERC are the most common and best known. They are still seen sometimes at hamfests - they look like a matte black tube shield with internal grippers to tightly grasp the tube. Cost depends on whether or not the seller knows what they are.
