possible problem with sse

I have had my SSE for about 6 months and it has performed flawlessly. Today i noticed that when i power up, there is a loudspeaker pop and low hum as well as a momentary violet glow on the KT90's. The amp was previously dead quiet.

It is a pretty standard build with 5ar4 tube rectifier, Triode mode, KT-88's and edcor transformers.

Any advice will be appreciated, i worried about my beloved SSE.
