Default TubelabSE bridge?

I have 2 SE boards and was wondering if it was worth the extra effort and expense to bridge for 16Watts vice 8 using 300B's?

I assume I would need duplicate power supplies...
but just one higher rated set of OPT's...?

Doesn't it take 10 times the power to realise twice the gain? Is that correct or urban myth?

If correct, what possible use is twice the power given the additional expense and effort?

You are right. There are easier ways to get 16W. Still, twice the power is what it is and the difference is noticeable and possibly useful...just depends on the application.

It was just a thought. I have so many projects started but not finished right now...
