Dear All,
I am thinking of mounting the trimmers of the Tubelab SE on the lower side of the board, opposite to the sockets. Do you think this could cause any problem ? Better ask :-) Thanks, Davide |

It will work fine. Just remember their directions will be reversed. On top, CW is more bias and CCW is less. On the underside, the opposite will be true.

I always wanted to ask: how often do you check/adjust the bias of the tubelab ?
Thanks, Davide |

When new tubes are installed, I keep an eye on it for the first few hours of operation. Once it seems like they have settled, they should stay put for 100s of hours of use. Some tubes are more fickle than others. The Shuguang 300Bs seem to like to drift upward over time.

My Shuguang 300B hasn't changed after about 48 hours of use. Last edited by Evenharmonics; 8th April 2010 at 03:38 PM. |
