I like the Tubelab SE very much !! I don't know if it's the power drive, or the choice of good driver tubes, but it sound good.
Now, can I try to use the same board with other tubes, like KT88, and this family?
The idea is:
1) The heaters will have external power, AC, DC, elevated...to be decided
2) The cathode connected to the cathode
3) The grid connected to the grid.
4) The screen connected in triode or UL mode.
I'll put a B+ around 400 V, Caps rated 450V and coupling caps rated 600V
What else should be changed ?
What other triodes can be used (and would be worth useing) with minor modifications ?

I've tried those types of tubes in my TSE. They work fine. Just power the heaters from the raw 6.3VAC from the transformer. I used the 300B B+ mode, which is around 390V. I tried it with EL34s and KT90s. I didn't listen to it long like this. The final chassis will let me try these and other tube types (like sweep tubes) with ease.
