I've seen several posts here about people using some "non-standard" tubes in the their Simple SE's by doing a little rectifier manipulation; ie, you can use a 5881 or a 6V6 if you use such and such rectifier. I thought it might be nice to collect some of people's various suggestions/experiences in one place.

I've heard of people trying:
5881
6V6
807
etc

Anyone tried anything else? If so, please list your power tube/rectifier combo.
