One more question... so if you plan to add the choke, but want to test the basic amp first without the chock to make sure everything is working, do you install the 150 ohm 5 Watt resistor and then cut it out or can you just leave it out?

If you plan to power the amp without a choke, a resistor must be in its spot on the board or across the choke connectors.
