My thoughts on Holojoy etc.

I was not here when the original flap occured but I have had contact with him via. email and he has been very helpful and knowlegable. I am inclined to think that he would have quite a bit to offer from what I have seen. He is willing to go out of the way to be helpful.

He is clearly not Carlos. There is only one Carlos. :D

Carlos, I think there is some merit to your comparison of audio design to chemically altered states of consciousness. I also find your history quite interesting. A one man diversity poster child. ;)

Actually I think we have this diversity thing a bit backward. Our strength is not in our diversity as many say but rather in the unity of the diverse. In other words simply emphasising diversity (i.e. differences) just leads to a contentious atmousphere. True strength lies in many diverse people, cultures coming together in such a way as to produce unity of purpose and cooperation. Your history is I think an example of the later and I think the outcome is outstanding.

As to X rated Bibles; the passage Carlos quotes is in no way X rated but I think that Song of Solomon is clearly of an adult nature (though not pornographic). The passage Carlos mentions simply expresses the fact that God wants you to be passionate about Him (hot) or completely cold to Him. The luke warm he (literally) vomits up. Graphic but not X rated.

It is interesting how the Bible is so graphic and up front about the faults even of its heros and the stark realities of life.

OK so I got way off topic but that is why we are in this forum anyway.

.....and I guess the trade offs boil down to personal preference. I can't help but think though, the distortions throughout the system just keep adding.. I mean, why not drive your amps with a phono instead of a cd player? Same argument right?

I am not sure that this is correct. I don't remember where but I do remember reading an article which indicated that at least in some circumstances with speakers that phase issues can even result in some cancellation. I think that the interactions might be very complex and hard to pin down.
