A note so high, I don't even want to hear it.

Metopera's satelite broadcast channel had an excerpt -- and it isn't pleasant.

Don't forget Minnie Riperton and her and her five-octave vocal range.
Riperton had a coloratura soprano vocal rang which spanned five octaves. Aside from her various hits, she is perhaps best remembered today for her ability to sing in the whistle register, in which she had rare facility.

I will take the "C" above high "C" in the Allegri "Miserere" as about enough for me. (We have soprano in our choir, trained in voice in Germany, who can get there AND with grace.)
I suppose it wasn't that difficult for the castrati for whom that section of the piece was written.

Here are the last lines of the "Star Spangled Banner" from two centuries ago. Nobody sings any of the forth verse.
O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand
Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation!
Blest with vict'ry and peace may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the power that hath made and preserv'd us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto - "In God is our trust,"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
