Default How fast is your broadband.

Just had fibre broadband installed I am getting 40MBS download speed.
It was previous 3MBS.

Have ADSL2+ for some years now , pretty happy with it .
1020 up/ 22073 kbps down , live 800 meters from the exchange

Depends on which "speedchecker" I use.
Can vary from 6Mb/s to 30Mb/s for upload and download, simply by swapping checkers.

Somebody is telling lies.

36mbs down, 9mbs up, 10ms ping.

I still maintain that once you have an "acceptable" speed (currently) it makes little if any difference to the web experience. A 6mb pdf still usually takes a couple of seconds to download, and bigger files longer from most sites. Its the sites hosting the info that are the bottleneck at the moment as I see it.

BT's spiel for pushing fibre was "you'll get your winning bid in on ebay quicker".
