36mbs down, 9mbs up, 10ms ping.

I still maintain that once you have an "acceptable" speed (currently) it makes little if any difference to the web experience. A 6mb pdf still usually takes a couple of seconds to download, and bigger files longer from most sites. Its the sites hosting the info that are the bottleneck at the moment as I see it.

BT's spiel for pushing fibre was "you'll get your winning bid in on ebay quicker".

We get about 62Mb down and 2Mb or so up.

It's supposed to be upgraded for free to 100Mb down at some point.

The worst part of most packages is the fair usage policy that they implement and try oh so hard not to tell you about. The BT infinity stuff is horrible. You get limited to some relatively small amount of bandwidth per month and if you over step your usage (something you can do in like 10 minutes at full download speed if you actually get 100Mb), then it remains painfully slow for the rest of the month. We're talking like throttling it back to 1 or 2Mb from your full line speed.

We're with Virgin and their fair usage policy is done on a day to day basis. So if you decide you want to download more, then you can, without it affecting anything but that days performance. Then there's the fact that they only throttle you down by about 10% anyway, in stead of 98%.
