Had the loudness vs. dynamic range discussion with a client last night. He choose "louder" arggggggr.

There are simple "solutions" to this:
-Match the RMS levels of the files and then let your clients listen to them.
-After that let them listen to 128kbit/s mp3 files of the squashed and dynamic masters at the same RMS levels.
If the client then chooses the squashed version its a lost cause.
 
Nah, talking about CD levels here strictly perception. CDs will go away soon and people see what they are missing will go hi res. Than the crap hits the fan imo, we may see DSD come into the fore even.

I don't think "high resolution" will be the future of audio formats.
Sure there will be people believing the "more must be better" paradigm, but the general public does have a good sense of quality vs money ratio. And with lossy codecs increasing in quality every year combined with the low costs of legally obtaining these, this will be the future of audio formats.
