The Brazilian National Anthem was officially introduced only in the 20th century in 1922 and was made separately by two people.
The music was composed by Francisco Manuel da Silva, on a musical theme of a man who loved greatly the Brazil (a fact despised by the conspirators of the republic), the Emperor Dom Pedro II, the last Emperor of Brazil, and the lyrics was composed by an intellectual, writer and prominent citizen in his time, Joaquim Osorio Duque Estrada.
The lyrics has many figures of speech, elaborate images, almost baroque, as was common then, and Joaquim being a writer of great worth, did not avoid this tendency.

This poor translation does not do justice to the grace of the original poem by Joaquim, as in the Portuguese language the rhymes are of rare beauty.

I can't find a translation of the swedish anthem, but my favorite anthem so far must be the South African one. I've heard it live in Cape Town, South Africa, and it was a magical moment.
