42 could be everything AND nothing

Can we assume that the question was not condensed to its simplest form to provide the simplest possible answer as provided (rather than all the pages from all the books in the worlds)? Might it have been simply 21x2 or 17+25? All the numerical series may be pure coincidence as 'life, the universe and everything' is A LOT of information and is bound to throw out patterns along the way - so much so that it would be odd if it didn't

If the question asks everything what is not the question?

I guess if the world was going to end that would be 42 as well....If we had a last wish could it be for a tasty fish? (Things are not always what they seem)

It seems that...

... we humans are seeking continuously to find meaning and significance in the most unlikely of places, sometimes seeing commonplace or even remarkable shapes in shifting clouds and occasionally finding easily recognisable forms and patterns in vegetables!

As with 'the great 42 question' does this not tell us more about ourselves than anything else?

Just wondering.
