The first half of FMJ is extremely realistic. It could almost be a documentary. Whenever I watch it I feel like I am back there and I can even smell the place. Eerie.
It is one of rare movies that I watched at least 3 times, and wouldn't mind watching it again. Great!
Full Metal Jacket is one of the 30 - 35 movies for which i have spent a DVD disc, to include in my library.
It has - IMHO - no so much relation with the 2 other movies.
Moreover, Stanley Kubrick is in its own class by alone. Far away from other movie makers.
