Dick you really need to do extended listening comparisons of Japanese girl bands.
I have teenage daughters. Had to endure lots of that. Although vocaloid is very clever it gets very wearing after not many seconds.
Because I have heard how good they can sound - to me 95% of what pretentious audio systems produce is pretty rubbishy - roughly equivalent to a standard sedan bought by a kid who adds ultra wide tyres, a wide open exhaust, and revs the guts out of it as he trundles up and down the street, thinking he's impressing everyone ... sorry, kid ...

What's wrong with Coldplay? I'm not following current pop at all, but a quick listen on YouTube shows something like a modern version of Little River Band - no prob's here,
By coincidence today I got an email from an old buddy who had his account here disabled. We share a taste for some "different" music like Einstürzende Neubauten, Laibach, Pere Ubu, etc.
I remember them as a fun joke band from the early 80's. A friend took me to see his favorite band and they opened (in a very small club venue). My love of their act earned me his undying enmity.
That's quite a range of 'different'. I have had a brief youtube check and will dig more. I am also intrigued by the lastest BIS release. Notes from the owner of the label below

John, the difficulty would be establishing a setup where the CD sound wasn't being degraded by factors that the users didn't understand and weren't controlling well enough. That said, this unit, which I heard myself at an audio show, CH Precision, is most likely going to nail it in an unknown setting, probably will be least compromised by its surroundings - it resolved the ambience of a test CD I had brought along, spot on.
Others have echoed my findings, it could be worthwhile having a listen ...
