Have my 2nd pair up for sale..
As a quick description, these are a three-way professional studio monitor from the cool, power-design days of the 80s. Extremely flat response and designed for a flat impedance of 8ohms. In more detail: Drivers: 12" specially designed bass unit with massive magnet I.T.T Dome mid-range See this thread for details : ?ITT? dome midrange 2 x Tandberg badged tweeters (2 used for large power handling and low distortion). Have Acoustic Contour Controls for mid and treble and tweeter overload circuits (designed for protection against high volume, non-muted, tape fast forwarding, as stated in the sales brochure. That will save both your tweeters AND your ears!). Specs as stated on front plate (also shows frequency plot and effect of contour controls: Range: 25Hz - 20,000 Hz Bass Resonance: 30Hz X-over frequencies: 600, 3.5k Hz Continuous Power: 100W Music Power: 160W Sensitivity: 6W (unsure how this is measured) Impedance: 8 ohms Sound beautiful ! Most musical monitors I've heard that still (reportedly by others) maintain a flat frequency response. Here an external link for the original brochure: http://cybermax.tmfweb.nl/tandberg/studiomonitor.htm The picture I've added is of the black ones I'm keeping so here are pictures showing the wood finish of those for sale (soon as I get my camera cable back from where I left it, I'll add actual photos: http://www.vintage-audio.com.ua/en/cat/227/745.html Mine are in excellent condition, save for missing the small red cap on one overload protection light. I'm looking for £550. Can deliver if you're in London somewhere.. |
