what the heck is a 18w-4545k? Besides resembling a 8545, that is.

 this is diference in voice coil former. 8545k has kapton voice coil former not aliuminium as 8545. k vesrion will have better transients but this is mainly advantage on dedicated midranges not midwoofers. when voice coil mooves with kapton former nothing prevent it from botoming out- no mechanical brakes. driver start mooving very quickly but there is no brake  there is arround 6 diferent versions of 18w8545 midwoofers.

I might grab them, then. I have a pair of boxes that are designed around the 8545. At great expense, I might add.
