Hi Nicholas
> 17 steps with –2 db between steps That’s – 34 dB: do you have any versions with more, preferably –53 dB (intact audio special order) or like SACT (?)? Thanks |

Our latest offering is a stereo 24 pole volume control with steps up to -48db each step of -2db. This way you would have more finite control over your volume. However we also do custom jobs to accomadate different db rating like yours of -53 db. (however note maximum so far of steps is 24 steps only) at NO ADDITIONAL COST just slightly longer manufacturing time as we keep the the new 24 pole version in stock. However i believe the -53 db is seldom in demand unless of horn users so we do it by custom basis we no surcharge. So if you need higher email us your requirements with the db rating will be best Also by popular request our new offerings will be 5 inputs instead of the normal 2 poles. REcently we have been doing alot of custom job requesting 5 inputs and stereo volume control and higher -db attenuation. So we have come up with our latest offering to address the current user requirements CHeers NIcholas |

I really don't know, if soldering the input to the switch is not DIY, but soldering the switch to the transformer is (DIY) then I guess you are right. |

check out our webpage at www.promitheusaudio.com Because this is a passive volume control, no point to have a remote volume control , It corrupts the sound due to the noise from the controller spraying everywhere. Also because this is a high bandwidth trans, it picks it up and in shows in noise. Yes we have ab with the volume control, let say it is better in the areas of fludity, musically, involvement, soundstage and drive. However transparency it is not as good as the ladder attenuator. however the ladder always sounds dry sounding abit noisy compared to the tvc types. Drive is very apparently lacking with attneuator even it is properly match. As i am selling it with a profit, perhaps anyone who wants more info pls do not hesitate to drop us an email. May not be ethical to post here. Best regards Nicholas |
