Okay this is a bit silly, but maybe someone can help.
I have bought an US model Crown K2 on ebay. Of course this comes with an US style (fixed) mains connector (nice thick, but short cord). I already have converted the PS to 230V/50 hz using a crown part. I am reluctant to cut the cord and put European style mains male connecor on it ( I might one day want to sell it again), so I was hoping to make a special mains extention cord with a female US connector on one end and a male NL style connector on the other. Replacing the complete mains cord is a bit of a hassle (and I dont want to loose my waranty yet) However I cannot find a reasonably priced female US connector. Or to be more precise; the connector is not so much a problem ($6-$15 for a 15 or 20A piece), however the shipping cost to the Netherlands vary from $40 to $50 (and about 25% VAT en taxes will be added on this). Also some inet shops require a minimum of $50 or more ordersize.. A few examples Partsexpress has this Marinco for $12.50 http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshow...10-404&scqty=1 But shipping will be $45 and a international order has to be $50 or more (excl shipping. Here a 20A model costs only $12 http://www.buypowergear.com/detail~ID~4825.html Biu shipping to the Netherlands is $44 and must be paid beforehand with international wire transfer (CC not accepted!) Here a nice 15A model for 6 euro at Elfa [url]http://www.elfa.se/elfa-bin/setpage.pl?http://www.elfa.se/elfa-bin/dyndok.pl?dok=143992.htm ![]() Shipping is 40 euro Does anybody know an inet shop which charges reasonable shipping costs (internationally) on small orders like this? Say $10-20 or so. And ofcourse sells a US style female mains adapter (for an extention cord)?? That would help alot.

Have someone buy that for you at the local hardware store (and for a 1/2 of that price Parts Express charge), then ship that Global Prority Mail ($9.50) to you.
I can do that for you if you like. Just paypal me the amount. |
