FS: Homebuilt "Aikido" 2A3 single ended triode amp

Hey all...

Due to unexpected financial issues coming up, I'm forced to sell this beautiful 2A3 amplifier

It's based off John Broskie's Aikido concept, which makes it possible to get very low noise out of a directly-heated triode like the 2A3. Uses high quality parts, like Transcendar 3K output trannies, Hammond power transformer and a heavy-duty Motorola choke. Vishay/Dale resistors, stuff like that. Comes with a few replacement rectifiers - RCA 5V4GA, JAN-Centron 5R4 (the potato-masher), and a US-made 5R4GB, all NOS. Also have two NOS 6CG7's. You'll need a pair of 12AX7's and of course a set of 2A3's to run this amp.

Looking for around $1100 + shipping for this amp, but am pretty flexible on the price. Someone's going to be very lucky to own this one-of-a-kind piece

Looks like you did a fantastic job! I'd love to see your design/schematic for ideas for a higher power project I have on the planning table.

I've dropped the price down to $800 as I'd like to sell this soon.

Most of the parts cost is eaten up in the transformers, obviously...Transcendar's aren't cheap, but they do a superb job

As for the schematic, I have it laying around here somewhere...hehe.

What is the power output.
Do you have any spect on this thing?
What weight?

Around 3.5 watts, into 4 or 8 ohms.

As for the weight, it's probably going to be around 35 lbs. or slightly more when fully packed and double boxed. This is a heavy amp, and the packaging for it is substanstial to prevent damage

This is truly a steal for this price, I doubt you'll find much competition with a custom built 2A3 integrated amp at this price level.
