Parts Connexion has brand new EH EL34 tubes listed at about the same price. If one were to take up the offer of a 10% discount offered on this list, the price would drop furthur.

Hi Fritz
Yes, I too bought two matched pairs of Svetlana Winged C EL 34s a year ago, cost me about $50+ plus shipping from P/Connexion. The curent price is not much different, maybe marginally less. George |

I see what you mean George. I remember paying something like 65-70 for a matched quad including shipping from triodeelec. Looking at their page this is rougly the price for the fat tube version.
I will unpack them and see which they are. If there only worth $20 or something Ill keep them around for emergency spares. As I remember they were quite a bit more expensive than the svetlanas I normally use and very much brighter. Did you find them to be a considerably different sounding tube? I used them long enough to be certain they were "run in" but the sound never changed. |

My Welborne Labs pp amp came with Svetlana EL 34s when I bought it new. I bought a set of spares so that I could replace them whenever I needed to, though I havent replaced the original set after nearly four years of use...
I havent heard any other brand, so I cant comment. These are quite nice, though. George |
