from a post on another forum:
"I have a pair of small paper cone tweeters, 1 3/8 " dia, 1/2" tall, they fit without rubbing in the voicecoil of my Fe206E's. I just toyed with the idea of keeping them in there but they are not efficient enough for me. Would work well with biamping. They are just the right height, if mounted on a small spacer to the pole piece they are even with the throat of the whizzer, you can adjust the height with different spacers. The cone is of the same colour as the fostex driver. I remember that some time ago there was interest in a DIY concentric driver and thought some of you may be interested in a symbolic trade or 'something'. I can't justify putting a monetary value on these as they are only worth a few cents in materials, they do sound nice and smooth though, and I have never seen any like this before. I'll take almost anything for them!(if someone is feeling really generous, I very much want to try out 40-1310s, but any interesting trades are welcome, value is not an issue, send me a postcard...whatever). Oh, on the back they have a logo akin to the mitsubishi logo, a small triangle with a diamond on each corner. Also; " 3FP01A, 120ohm, JPN, 87233". "I felt like playing around with those tweeters again, so here is a pic. I've never listened to them mounted all the way in the whizzer till now, teh whizzer boosts it's output considerably. I also changed the flimsy wire to alphacore flat copper. They are mounted with blue tack rings." " I didn't really put much time into listening, I just wanted to see how they'd fit. I didn't use a propper xo cap, for xo=10kHz : cap~.13uf, I didn't have anything too close to that laying around so the xo ended up being at a much lower frequency than desired, I could tell something was getting slightly jumbled in the lower high frequency range but the highs did extend further than before, it sounded good on minimalistic tracks like some chinese flute, acoustic blues...etc. One problem was the appearance of sibiliance, it's always been there from the beginning, but it's much more appearent with the tweeters. I definitely see potential in this but I don't have the time to experiment right now, I'm extremely busy with other projects. I'd like to try biamping them and dial them in with a variable xo, see just how good they can be. Maybe they're a perfect match for another driver?"
