Approximately 20 RCM HE5.25-S shielded aluminum cone woofers available for US/Canadian delivery only. Nice sounding (and looking) alternative to the Seas 5.25" drivers for significantly less $$. See the included link http://mywebpages.comcast.net/kidder/Audio/Auror/Auror.htm to find details of Keith Kidder's MTM TL design using the RCMs and the Seas 27TDFC tweeter.
$32 each, shipping extra, and once these are gone there won't be any way to get them in North America except to pay the shipping and duties to get them from Europe. (BTW, as a cost reference, see http://www.remo.nl/alcone.htm where they are currently selling for 64 Euro each. BK Electronics out of the UK has them around 22 GBP ($40 US) if I remember correctly, but they make you e-mail to get their price list. http://www.remo.nl/alcone.htm

You have your URLs not entered correctly:

I have everything built up for the Aurors, but the cabinets that Ken Martinez made for me were cut for an older version of a bi-amp terminal cup that I have, so the one I've got doesn't fit. As soon as those show up (in the next couple of days) everything will be buttoned up and making music. Keith is obviously happy with them, and had Sheldon Stokes' help designing the crossover. Ken has also spoken highly of them.
I have heard the RCM's in a ported enclosure (Dennis Murphy designed crossover) with a Morel MDT-30 tweeter. Well, now that I think about it, so have you since they were the ones I brought to DIY Atlanta a couple of years ago. My general impression has of these has always been good bass (for the size of the cone) and articulate but not etched midrange. I'm REALLY looking forward to completing the Aurors. I gave away the 2-ways as a Christmas gift to the Worship Pastor at our church and he loves them. It'll be nice to have an RCM-based speaker back in the listening room again. Thanks for the fix on the links - obviously did something wrong there. Paul |
