I used to use them for prototyping circuits before I made holes in chassis steel

I have some of these and recommend them, they are strong and solidly built.

I have moved on to Solid-state and don't build so many tube amps anymore......

I suggest to re-think the last sentences. I some time ago had similar thinkings, and now I returned vacuum tubes again. Fortunately I didn't discarded my saved old material, and now it is important. A couple of years ago I made a Phantastron and a Sanatron, very rare circuits. With the saved stuff.
