ok, i'm getting a great deal on a muse 2 dac plus, so i want to move this fast,
it comes with a stancor psu, and a nice DIY digital coax cable made by Mister X. Much better than the ratshack cables. the art dio was modded by Mister X here's a list of the mods: Remove and jumper the input and output caps Replaced and socket U2 Resistor swap method of adjusting the bessel filter which lowers the analog output to roughly 2.2 volts. Replaced all of the caps on the Digital board Replaced the phono jacks that service the analog outputs with Cardas CTFA RCA jacks. Replaced the 100 ohm digital input resistor with a 75 ohm metal film resistor. Replaced the power led. Replaced all of the main PSU and filter caps. Replaced the main diodes with Shokey type. please don't pm him about these specs, he's a very busy guru. i don't know what to put this at, i was thinking ~420 shipped, I AM TOTALLY OPEN TO CASH OFFERS! no trades tho!

With all due respect, your price seems way too high - at least when you're trying to sell it to the DIY crowd.
You can pick up a new DIO for around $120 and all the parts for the mods that you mention probably set one back less than $50. The mods are extremely well documented at the following site: http://home.ca.inter.net/~cfraser/DIOFAQ.htm and there is a yahoo forum with folks willing to help: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DIOmods/ Good luck with the sale, but you might be better off on one of the sites catering to the more conventional audiophile set, where they don't have the ability and/or time to do these things. ---Gary p.s. who is Mister X? |
