Folks:
Four years ago, I hosted two small group buys for 25mm illuminated anti-vandal switches (see http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/group-buys/231271-large-illuminated-anti-vandal-switch.html and http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/swap...ated-black-anodized-anti-vandal-switches.html). I’m considering doing it again and would like to gauge the diyAudio community’s interest before committing to a quantity of the switches.
By way of background, the switches are manufactured by Langir. The Langir anti-vandal product line can be found at http://www.vandal-resistant-switch.c...ant-switch.pdf. The switch I’ll be buying is at the end of the .pdf. The configuration for this order will be L25-F/R Z1 S R B 24, which differs slightly from the previous orders in that there will only be four connections on the rear of the switch – the two switch legs and the two LED legs. This simpler version of the switch has the added benefit of being about $1.00 cheaper than the six connection alternative I purchased the last two times. The photos below are of the switches I previously purchased (including a photo of the switches on my amps in my listening room, in situ so to speak).
This is a large (25mm diameter mounting hole) stainless steel anti-vandal switch with a blue LED ring. The LED expects 24V DC and the switch is rated at 250V / 5A. Similar products from Bulgin, e-switch and Schurter have lower DC switch ratings and/or are considerably more expensive. I will offer the switches at my cost (i.e., switch price, shipping from China to me, shipping from me to you and PayPal fees) plus a $0.50 donation to diyAudio.
The cost of shipping these switches outside of North America is ridiculously high which will very likely make this offering non-competitive for a broader audience. I would be happy to provide contact information at Langir to anyone outside of North America who might want to offer a similar, local group buy – the more the merrier!
Switch price, per unit (includes shipping from China to me + $0.50 diyAudio contribution): $11.00
Priority Mail 2-Day Small Flat Rate Box: $7.15 (US locations only)
For North American sales, I estimate the prices as follows (shipping to you included):
1 Switch + PayPal fees = $19.00
2 Switches + PayPal fees = $30.33
3 Switches + PayPal fees = $41.66
4 Switches + PayPal fees = $52.99
5 Switches + PayPal fees = $64.32
6 Switches + PayPal fees = $75.64
I’ll quote prices to Canada and Mexico on request (and will try to find the least expensive option).
I just want to gauge the interest level at this time. If you’re interested, how many do you expect you’ll want?
Regards,
Scott

Very nice and affordable switches but please note that switching both L and N is standard for safety reasons. The double pole Z2 version would make DIY amplifiers according regulations.
ncc:
Someone else has reserved the switches. If that sale falls through, I'll let you know. That said, shipping costs from the US to Viet Nam would be high (in fact, you'd be buying switches that were sent half-way around the world and then half-way back again, which is not inexpensive); you might be far better off buying directly from Langir. I've had no difficulty selling off the excess switches and I expect your experience would be similar.
