I'm looking to build a lighting gadget running off batteries that have white LEDs to light up whatever I'm soldering.
I have Blue LEDs to trade for White ones - just need a few. thanks Bob |

Bob,
Your local Radio Shack has blue and white. Faster and cheaper than mail. Now I could understand trading LEDs if violet LEDs are involved: http://www.lc-led.com/View.jsp?idProduct=173 Some consider these black LEDs. ![]() Also, the LED muesum (lotsa interesting information on LEDs...): http://ledmuseum.home.att.net/ledleft.htm JF |

A white LED of good quality is quite expensive (4 to 5 USD), considering that you can get RGB LED's for about 6 USD a piece.
I usually stick to full spectrum RGB LED's, then you can allways make it fit the bill, and after all they are not that expensive (the smd version that is). Magura

Take a look at the bottom of the ebay-listings. If it says "free shipping worldwide" then yes
. IIRC shipping is included in the "buy it now" prices whereas they are extra if you win the items at an auction. I received my items within a week and they were declared low enough to avoid VAT and customs. ![]() /U. |
