I have 3 5842/417A tubes. One is an rca, 2 are stc brand. I bought the stc from ESRC and are nos. I tried them in my TSE but couldn't get the bias voltage adjusted. The B stamped on the box means ESRC tested them. I'll send the three to you and if they work in your design you can send me what they're worth, let's say 15% off eBay value. I'll be away all day, so I may not answer until tonight.
