I have made my old (1989) soft starter in a updated version using LTSpice and this time Spice was very useful and accurate!

This soft start pcb isn't very advanced. It uses only common parts and no IC's but it has worked very good powering on a 600 VA /88000 uF PS since 1989, every day!

Will this soft start be sufficient for a Aleph-x
500VA transformers/3x68000uF caps 21V
or will I have to use 2 (1 for each channel)

The main purpose of the circuit is to save the fuses in the house. As I wrote above, 600 VA have I used for years and started with a 5 watt resistor. A trick is not to have to long delay. It just warms up the resistor.

You will probably need only one but let me also say that if you don't have any problems with your fuses in the house you don't need this thing.

I think I must order > 150-200 boards but I haven't negotiated yet. I don't think it's impossible to get near 30 SEK. At the moment we have only 36 boards which aren't so much especially when they are so small.
