Attached is a picture of one I own and am considering selling.
As you might be able to see it has the shipping locking mechanism in place for storage and shipping. Turntable is in near new condition. A college friend purchased it new in Europe when he was stationed there in the military. I bought it from him, used it about 6 times during college years and has been forgotten about/persevered in storage at my parents house since then (~1984). I don't have sophisticated equipment to test it but it operates and plays as I remember it when first bought. Includes: Ortofon OM5E needle (used twice) 2 Arm Balance weights Turntable balance Needle Overhang Gauge 45 Adapter Original Manual Thanks, Tom St. Louis, Missouri 63138 http://tcr22.tripod.com |

i dont even know the range for the system.... what are you thinking $$$?
I am relativly young (no need for turntable), but i can run a price by my dad who is looking for good turntable to go with the estats I built for him. The benifit of me getting yours is that I attend SLU, so i could just pick it up prob. Brian

According to one of the members here, this turntable when modified, can be better than Linn. http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showt...9036#post49036
I have one of those too, but didn't mod it yet. It is a very nice piece of equipment though.

When these were knew a couple of reviews claimed they ere the best TT ever made, especially when equiped with a Shure V15. Some dispute this, of course. Anyway, the typically go for upto $250 on e-bay. There is a version with the Phase Linear cosmetics and logo that goes for even more - but then you are getting in to the collector mentality not just function.

Brian,
Since I’ve been trying to value this turntable, I found and contacted someone from a company that had co-produced these (with their name on it). Feedback from him was that he has seen them sell for up to $450 and routinely bring $250. A lot depends on condition and accessories (Ex. the manual is needed for most to properly set it up). Another thing he told me is these units are susceptible to damage during shipping but the fact that I had the locking devices and the original packing was extremely important. Your picking it up would obviously be a big plus for both of us. Regarding price: Without advertising, a gentleman from France has offered me $100 for a few parts that his units needed. I really don’t want to disassemble nor ship internationally at this point. I’m still not sure what a good price for both of us would be; do you wish to make an offer? Feel free to email me (see profile) as I might forgot to check back here. Tom 314-749-6195 St. Louis, Missouri 63138 Peter, Thanks to the quick reply and info. I’ve noticed that this must be a very nice unit as I have seen them used as a reference in tests. I don’t even pretend to be an expert or audiophile so keep this in mind when reading the rest . I’ve read in another forums that the unit’s performance can be greatly improved via isolated (??) by removing the feet and have it mounted on inflatable (inner) tube (???). BTW, I note the Boeing badge. I work at Boeing as well. Tom 314-749-6195 St. Louis, Missouri 63138 |

Sam9,
Thanks for the reply! I’m starting to wish I was an audiophile so I would keep the TT and enjoy it .Thanks, Tom |
