I spent many years - and even more dollars - buying most expensive tweeters, trying to see which one sounds the best. So far, it's undoubtedly the Scanspeak D3004/6640 Beryllium Tweeter!

The rest of the drivers in my speakers are accutons, so eventually I came to a conclusion that accuton tweeters just blend better with other drivers. Took me a couple years though to realize that. I like the beryllium sound better, if we compare just the tweeters, but in my speaker, I feel that ceramic tweeters sound overall more coherent, even if less pleasant...
