What are the chances of finding a display board for a Thomson DPL500HT receiver ?

A coworker gave me one of these receivers for repair today where the VFD display on the front is seemingly worn out and is barely readable anymore.

He really want this unit fixed and the only solution i can think of is locating a identical unit with a broken amp section to pillage the front panel display board off of.
