I'll try to hit each of these posts above.

The plate that comes on the AS.100 was kind of crappy , so I machined a new plate from anodized aluminum. I also integrated the volume and power buttons.

The drivers are: the Scan Speak Discovery (formerly Peerless HDS) tweeter and the woofer is the SB acoustics 6.5" 8 ohm driver with cone coating. I would definitely use both of these drivers again. They offer spectacular sound. They cost more than value drivers but they are built like top end scan speak drivers for far less money.
