HI,
I would like a fairly cheap (definitely under $200) scope with probes. I don't the first thing about them, so assume I am a moron. Doug R Indy |

Keep an eye out for Universities that are upgrading and getting rid of their old analog scopes. That is how I got mine.
Dual channel is a nice to have (probably a lot would say must have). 2Mhz as suggested on the pc ones above is useful but probably a touch on the low side, 20Mhz or higher would be nice to have, but if you are not trying to track down oscilations 2Mhz will let you do everything you need for general audio work. ebay search turns up a lot!!! oscilloscope | eBay Tony. |

Jeff,
Thanks. Your mailbox is full. Let me know details when you can, DUG, I have a mac laptop, is the sound card sufficient for PC-based? As I said, I know nothing about this stuff. Thanks, Doug |

For soundcard input, look up Winscope on the web. The bandwidth will be limited to that of the card, but for a new user the software can be useful for audio frequencies and as a learning tool. Also, Tektronics offers The ABC's of Oscilloscopes as a free pdf download.
