FS:Wollensak T-1515 tape recorder
Looking to sell a 1958 Wollensak T-1515 reel to reel with original microphone and vinyl case.Overall,it is in quite nice shape. It does have a few scratches and signs of use,but no rust and dents.
I completely disassembled the drive mechanism(boy, was that fun),cleaned and lubed it.I removed the idlers/drive wheels and ground them to remove the dried rubber.I replaced the bypass, coupling caps and ,I believe, a couple of the electrolytics. That I won't swear to-I just don't remember as I was working on a tube cb at the same time.
I also installed two new belts and replaced any weak tubes. The power amp has a pair of Sylvania 12AB5s that tested very strong and is good for 10 watts according to the service literature.
The heads do show wear(no surprise there),but the unit records and plays very well.I believe I printed out the service manual(s) for this and will include those.
EDIT:Yes,I do have the top cover, not shown.
I would like $50 for the recorder plus Parcel Post shipping from 03262 to lower 48 states only. This is a small recorder by 1950s standards, but it weighs about 20 lbs.-unboxed.
I accept cash or POSTAL MONEY ORDER only, please.
ALSO:I have about (7) blank 71/2" reels of Ampex 632 tape(poly-sleeves) and (2) 7 1/2" empty reels for this.Whoever buys the recorder can have these for the cost of parcel post shipping, sent separately. Thanks.
