I have a pair of Frugel Horn mk3 $225 local pickup Charlotte, NC area.
with CSS EL70 drivers all they need is veneer or sanded and painted otherwise they are done. they sound fantastic, amazing bass for such a small speaker. built with 18mm birch ply.only about 10 hrs play time on EL70 |

Amazing how little it can cost to get into a set of giant killers if you are in the right place at the right time.

I will maybe regret letting these go one day. but I have a large room and have kind of gotten spoiled to 8 inch full range in OB so that is all I use anymore. Scott |

I picked these up from Scott yesterday. After listening for a few hours, I'm really happy with them. Really happy
. I'm listening to them now as I write. They have that quality where you hear something... and you just have to look toward them and say... "oh yeah". My 1st full range speakers (Fonken Floorstanders Mk2) had this effect on me, but it kind of wore off after I got used to them. That effect is back!Scott did an amazing job from scratch on the cabinets... *MUCH* better than I could have done even with the flat packs! I'm looking forward to my 2nd-ever veneer project to finish these. I'm thinking about some kind of curly, curvy, quilted veneer. I got to see more of Scott's handiwork in some Bass guitars he's made. They were all amazing. One of them had some beautiful quilted maple that I'm most interested in. Bob |
