Histoically significant - Phase Linear audio pre-amp
Folks,
This item is posted to diyAudio because it is a bit of a significant - at the time cutting edge - technology. It represents the first experiment and commercial production by Bob Carver of "Sonic Holography" as used in this Phase Linear 4000 Pre-amplifyer. This is the Original (Series One) "sonic holography" preamp. It was built by Carver when he was with Phase Linear. This is the predecessor to the Carver C-4000 preamp which was built after he left Phase Linear and started his own company. It has most of the final features of the Carver C-4000, but definitely was the "beta" version. No manual. Used, removed from service and in storage, good condition.
