Default Elan Via!dj music server - at $399 it's a must have for audiophiles

Listen to Jazz in your den, Classical in the living room and Rock 'n Roll in the basement while the kids sing along to their favorite tunes in the playroom -- all from one unit! The VIA!dj features four pairs of audio outputs that independently play any song from your entire music collection-instantly. And with its 160 gigabyte hard drive, you can store over 3,500 hours of your favorite music (at the Standard Quality setting).

The Via!dj I am offering for sale is a very clean and functioning four-output music server that I purchased new. Power cord and user manual are included as well as the original box. Having the box is critical because the manufacturer requires it if the unit ever has to be returned for service. It recently had a brand new cd/dvd rom installed by the manufacturer. This model was very expensive when purchased, selling for well over $3,000.

The 160 GB hard drive does contain music on it which can be deleted if desired. If you keep the existing music, there are 1,054 hours of music that can be added at the Very High Quality setting; or 1,757 hours of music at the High Quality setting; even more at the Standard Quality setting.

TWO full-function, Elan remote controls that are like-new are included. The second remote cost nearly $100 when I purchased it from Elan.

Additional Background:

The Elan VIA!dj Digital Music Servers are digital audio storage and music management systems that give you instant access to all your music from any VIA! Touch Panel or television in the home, or by using the front panel on the unit.

Browse your entire music collection by artist name, CD title, song name, era, year or genre. View the cover art of all your CDs.

You can have your entire CD collection loaded into the dj's hard drive; and it's a simple task to 'rip' newly-purchased CDs with the dj's front-loading CD tray. VIA!djs are Ethernet-ready for the downloading of cover art and song lists. If you don't have a home network, the dj also features a built-in modem which dials up on-line music information services to retrieve CD cover art and data.

Offered for sale at $499 plus shipping charges. The unit weighs 22 pounds in the box, and it would cost approximately $22 to ship the unit via UPS ground to the Midwest and $42 to ship it via UPS ground to the West Coast.

All offers will be considered.
