Default Aleph 4 Amp parts for Sale - New - unused

Hello everyone,

I have a variety of parts available that I originally purchased for 2 Aleph 4 amplifiers but I have never got around to build the amps. I can supply pics if anyone is interested. I am located in USA.

Update: See below for links to ebay and prices for each item.

1) 2 28V 650VA custom made toroidal transformers
2) 50 IRFP240 FETS
3) 2 sets of Aleph 4 PCBS (for 2 channels)
4) A box full of high qaulity audio electrolytic caps, diodes, heatshrink tubing, etc. All parts are orginally ordered for Aleph 4
5) 4 1.5mH inductors for power supply pi filter
6) 2 sets of beautiful heatsinks

I hand picked all of the parts. Why pay retail when you can get the parts with a huge discount.

Whoever buys these parts - you are in for a stunning amplifier.

Be careful with selection of C11, the 220uF electrolytic. I eventually used an Elma Simic II to get rid of some awful sibilance caused by a lesser component.

Other than that, match your MOS-FETs carefully and its a real breeze to build and a real joy to listen to.

The transformers seem a bit undervoltage though. The Aleph 4 uses 48V rails which would come from 35-0-35V transformers. And indeed I uses 35-0-35V.

Mines got 8 heatsinks. Two for each bank of 6 MOS-FETs. And it still runs at about 55 Degrees C with fan cooling.

Thanks KatieandDad for your comments. You are correct about the transformer being on the low side for the Aleph 4. I believe at one point, I was going to build the Aleph 5 which has a lower rail voltage.

To give you an idea of the heatsinking for a fully specified Aleph 4.

The heatsinking needs to be HUGE.

You can see my finished Aleph 4 at Project | Homebuilt Hi-Fi - A user submitted image showcase of high quality home built hi-fi components.

Since I've aquired the amp from my now-in-laws. I've added a couple of 50mm fans above the capacitor banks.

Sorry about the photo, but this is just TOO HEAVY to lift - almost 50Kg.

The photo shows the 50mm fan at the front, there is another at the rear - each one above the capacitors banks. They are 12V fans run in series (ie 6V each) Therefore they run slowly and are VERY QUIET in operation.

Hello everyone. I've received a lot of inquiries about the parts so I decided to list them on ebay. I will not be selling all of the parts together but break them into smaller pieces similar to how I broke out parts in my original post. The first item I have listed on ebay is the power transformers. I originally purchased these for the Aleph 5 but you can use them for other designs as long as the rail voltage is correct. See listing here and let me know if you have any questions...
