Default Linn 3x 100Wrms analog chip + transistors $1599

Seller offers home trial with full refund minus seller's 3% Paypal fee. Everything must return in same condition as received including packing and all accessories. Buyer must notify seller immediately of any defect upon arrival and immediately initiate damage claim with shipper. Buyer must email working tracking number to seller within three business days after receiving the amp. Buyer agrees to pay all round trip shipping and insurance.

Seller offers new free primeVibe seasoning device for guitar and all string instruments. Buyer pays shipping.

Note: this is Linn's latest and current "Dynamik" circuit technology (premiered 2009), not the outdated pre-Dynamik technology of most used/demo Linn amps listed for sale. Pre-Dynamik amps have the exact same name as this new current model, lacking only the "Dynamic" moniker. Dynamik amp values are higher than older non-Dynamik amps. It is likely all advertised amps lacking the "Dynamik" moniker are older non-Dynamik models.

Universal power supply application requires no internal modification, just plug it in: 230/110V 50/60Hz.

More images available: face, carton, accessories.

Linn Majik 3100 For Sale, “3100” = 3 channels x 100Wrms priced $750 below stereo model 2100 ($2350 MSRP). Perfect for normal stereo application (consider this a stereo amp with unused spare on-board channel), multi-channel audio, Trinaural, HT, or tri-amp. Linn offers internal active Xo upgrade + 8 gain settings.

FYI: Electrolytic caps (power supply and high-voltage applications) can expire in as little as 10 years. Estimate $300 to $1500 (and over) + round trip shipping/insurance for replacement. If power supply caps of appropriate physical size are unavailable (sometimes the case) your old amp just became a boat anchor.

MSRP $3080 USD, sell $1599 including Paypal, buyer pays all actual shipping + insurance fees. Discount 3% for direct bank deposit only. Absolutely no checks of any kind, period, sorry. Guaranteed shipping and tracking number emailed same business day payment confirmed by 3PM MDT (possibly till 4PM). Seller has USPS/Endicia shipping discount and encourages its use (small fraction of cost and preferred service vs. UPS/Fed Ex).

22 July 2011

Today is only about ten weeks since the amp left Linn’s Glasgow, Scotland factory on 11 May 2011 (see shipping label + date on OEM carton image). Mint AG scale 10 including every single OEM part: carton, packing material, three OEM unbalanced RCA-to-RCA interconnects, owner manual, power cable, etc.

Seller will email his recipe for Stan Warren’s interconnects, speaker, and power cables, great DIY audio recipes.

Seller posts this amp for unforeseen personal reasons.

Chakra technology premiered 1999 in Klimax mono-block: pure analog (absolutely no digital) monolithic chip with unique addition of bipolar transistors for current on demand (the chip is inherently more linear than discreet circuit but requires the bipolar transistors to pass high current). Think of Chakra as Quad's model 909 “current dumping” technology (premiered in ’99 same as Klimax) but with analog chip technology replacing Quad’s discreet circuitry.

Per Linn “unconditionally stable into all loads.” Perfectly drove seller's speaker which drops to 2.7 Ohms @ 200 Hz. Draws a measly 11W from the wall outlet @ idle/180W @ full power. A 13.2 lb flyweight only 3” x 15” x 14” (H x W x D)

Performance/sound wise this is the seller’s most preferred amp technology. Its transparency and 3-dimensional stage and image qualities equal or exceed the best extant (Atma-Sphere OTL) but with none of the OTL's vexing current and load limitations. Stage and image depth are as good as it gets. Seamless and coherent from top to bottom. No audible "thumbprint". Absolutely no typical solid-state "etching". Your Chakra amp will obliterate any vestige of tube fetish.

Seller will delete the review excerpts below upon request in case the edit/copy offends readers (no known copyright, both articles published on the web by original authors):

Aug. 07 TAS review HERE with unspecified speakers:

"...richly detailed, lively transients, superb dynamics, tremendously musical…compelling, lifelike energy…delightfully clean, fast, energetic…rich, chiming, perfect piano floated delicately with delightful tone…extraordinary bass tone and articulation…revealed the bass transient’s sharp, low-frequency 'breathing effect'…delicate over-the-top bell chime with perfect, drop-dead-gorgeous 'ping' and sustain…superb value…magic…good, lively and lifelike..."

Nov. 05 Stereophile review in HT/stereo/multi-channel systems HERE with all-Paradigm speakers including Studio/60 v.3 (8-Ohms nominal, 88 dB/W/m):

"...sings…big, open sound… knockout dynamics…plenty of power even for HT…full and impressive at high-levels…among the most revealing and transparent…stable, transparent, seldom matched sound-staging…extraordinary, thrilling detail…pleasantly unravels the most complex music…accurate perspective at any reasonable level…near-perfect into 4-Ohms..."

"...oboe inhalations clear, smooth, and with proper perspective…ensemble had dulcet sound with believable ambiance…natural, lively balance between ensemble and solo instrument…clean, tight, punchy electric/acoustic/piccolo bass (full-range no sub) with smooth, easy mid-treble..."

"...superb balance of horn and double bass, even better was the clarity of tenor voice and the warmth and transients of the horn…"

End edited review excerpts.

Some true talent in advertising revealed above. Sir, if you are doing something else with your life, you are really wasting it. Good luck with the sale.

PS Desperately looking for affordable boat anchors as described above.

Thanks for the sentiment.

I'm surprised this amp is still here considering the quality and price. Nothing I know of, tube or SS, approaches this level of overall performance, even more surprising considering the price. The Son of Ampzilla may have stronger bass and more power, but has less mid/treble musicality and refinement, has a higher purchase price, costs considerably more to run, runs hotter, is multiples heavier/larger, and lacks Linn's ultra-convenient SMPS (switching mode power supply) that runs off any voltage source.
