New Dynaco Design DIYTUBE Stereo 35 Tube Amplifier

Up for your audiophile consideration is a DIYTUBE Stereo 35 Tube Power Amplifier. It is very close in design to the Dynaco ST-35 with only a few minor changes. The amp is constructed of all new components, using all new JJ tubes, 12AX7 and 12AU7 drivers, and a matched quad of 6BQ5/EL84 outputs.

The amp circuit is on a single PC board designed by Shannon Sparks of diytube.com. The PC board is .092" thick with top & bottom silkscreen - 50% thicker and with 100% more copper than your average PCB. The PC board uses some of the finest components available, including Vishay metal film and wire wound resistors and Vishay polypropylene film(orange drop)coupling capacitors. I started with a Hammond 12x8x2 aluminum chassis. After punching all the holes it was sprayed with three coats of black lacquer paint, then followed with two coats of clear lacquer. I have also included solid cherry wood accents on the sides and solid cherry wood feet with large felt pads on the bottom.The amp also has heavy duty gold plated RCA input jacks and gold plated speaker binding posts. The output and power transformers are from Triode Electronics. They are Triode's Dynaclone transformers and are wound the same as the originals, with the same number of turns, sections and wire size, using the same Dynaco winding method, and made on the same core size. I have built and restored many Dynaco ST-70's and 35's and I believe these to sound as good as the original Dynaco transformers. I have made two very usefull modifications to this amp. First is an impedance switch that allowes the use of 4 or 8 ohm speakers. Secound is a timer module that delays the high voltage 45sec. after the power is turned on. This will allow your tubes time to warm up before the high voltage is applied, resulting in a soft start. This modification will greatly extend output tube life. I'm sure you will thank me for this many years from now. I have also moved the bias test points off the PC board and installed banana jacks on the chassis to make setting the bias easier.

I have been testing the amp on and off for about two weeks now, just to make sure there are no problems with it. So, you may ask, how does it sound. Well it sounds wonderfull,warm,open and very musical. Tube amps have a different sound then solid state amps. That's why I love them. Solid state amps are very upfront and edgey. Tube amps are mellow and smooth.

If you checked out my links you will see that I have over $450 invested in parts alone. As you can see I'm not making much on this amp. I am including a copy of the assenbly manual with documentation of the fransformers. Tubes will be removed and packed seperatly in there original boxes. The amp will se securly packed to assure safe arrival to you.

I will also offer a 30 day warrenty on parts and labor. If anything goes wrong with the amp within 30 days I will fix it for free. Excluding obvious misuse or abuse.
