I'm trying to find a well thought out DIY design that uses them? If I could find that, I'd be interested in picking a few units up.

Look at what B&G do with them, it is pretty simple to implement just like other midrange drivers.
A guy on here did a hanging open baffle (swinging open baffle I think he called it). |

Hi Tenson, I did send an email about the Neo 10- essentially that I'll take it as long as you can wait 'till payday next week! Haven't heard back. I'm presuming you still have it since you haven't declared it sold yet!

Heh! OK, well if you're happy with that I'll sort it out next week.
Cheers! |

I placed a Neo 8 PDR on a 2-way open baffle. Sounds great.

They are (now discontinued) Dayton 10" aluminum cones woofers 8 ohm in parallel. Only good up to 1300Hz. Using a 2-way MOX II active crossover with OPA2134(?) opamps. XO at about 700Hz.
At this time, the Neo8 is driven by the F5 and woofers rides on a Mini-A 10-15w amp. The Dayton 10" is probably not the best driver for this app, but they do contribute to a very nice sound. I first thought Neo 8 was doing all the magic, until I turned off the woofer amp. But, the Neo8 is very smooth, not fatiguing and airy driver. Sounds better than it should for a <$400 pair of speakers.
